Notably, during the main Tet period from January 27-31 (December 28 to the 3rd day of Tet), the North is affected by the northeast monsoon, making the weather cold, with severe cold in mountainous areas and light rain and drizzle in the Northeast.

According to the monthly climate trend forecast from January 21 to February 20, 2025 of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the average temperature in the region from Nghe An to Phu Yen is generally lower than the average temperature of many years (TBNN) by 0.5-1.0 degrees Celsius; the remaining regions are generally close to the TBNN of the same period, except in the South, some places are higher by 0.5-1.0 degrees Celsius.
Total rainfall in the Northern and Central regions is generally 10-20mm lower than the average. The Central Highlands and Southern regions are generally approximately the same as the average for the same period.
During the period from January 21 to February 20, 2025, cold air tends to be more active than the average of the same period, causing many days of severe cold. The Central region is likely to have some days of scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
