According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has now affected most of the mountainous and midland areas of the North.
In the evening and night of October 1, this cold air mass will continue to affect other places in the North, then affect the North Central region and some places in the Central Central region. Northeast wind inland level 3, coastal areas level 4-5.
During this cold spell, the weather in the North and North Central regions will be cool; cold at night and early morning, especially in the mountainous areas of the North. The lowest temperature in the North and Thanh Hoa is generally from 19-22 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 17-19 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas below 16 degrees Celsius; in Nghe An-Ha Tinh, the lowest temperature is generally from 20-23 degrees Celsius.
The area from Southern Nghe An to Thua Thien Hue has moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 30-70mm, locally over 150mm.
In addition, the Northwest region, the Northern Delta, Thanh Hoa and Northern Nghe An have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.
The meteorological agency said that currently, the center of storm No. 5 is at about 21.0 degrees North latitude; 119.5 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern sea of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 16 (184-201 km/h), gusting to level 17; moving in the West Northwest direction, speed about 5 km/h.
According to current forecasts, the storm is unlikely to affect coastal and inland areas of Vietnam. In the next 72 to 96 hours, the storm will move mainly north at about 10km per hour, and its intensity will continue to weaken. However, tourists planning to explore the islands in the North should regularly monitor weather forecasts and announcements from airlines and service providers to adjust their schedules accordingly.
