At Phu Quy station, there are strong gusts of wind at level 7-8; at Huyen Tran station, there are strong winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts at level 8.
On the night of January 5 and the day of January 6, the sea area west of the South China Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa archipelago) will have winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9. The sea will be rough with wave heights of 3-5 meters, from Northeast to North.
The North and Central East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) and the sea from Quang Ngai to Ba Ria - Vung Tau will have winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas with wave heights of 2 - 4.5 meters, in the Northeast direction.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, on the night of January 5 and January 6, in the Central and Southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago), there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind due to the influence of low pressure.
The meteorological agency warned that on the night of January 6 and January 7, the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), the western sea area of the South East Sea area (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) and the sea area from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan will have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, and waves 2-4 meters high.
The risk level of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is level 2.
All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by cyclones, strong winds and large waves.
