At Phu Quy station, there were gusts of level 8; at Huyen Tran station, there were strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8.
Forecast for the night of January 4 and January 5, the area affected by the low pressure trough includes the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa archipelago), the West of the Central and South East Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan. This area has wind level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas.
The sea area from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Ca Mau has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas.
In addition, on the night of January 4 and January 5, in the Central and Southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago), there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Residents and tourists should be on guard against thunderstorms that may include tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
On the night of January 5 and January 6, the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), the western sea area of the South East Sea area (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) and the sea area from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan will have strong Northeast to North winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3.0-5.5m high.
The western sea area of the Central East Sea and the sea area from Ba Ria - Vung Tau to Ca Mau has northeast wind level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough sea, waves 3.0-5.0m high.
The meteorological agency warned that all vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
