During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday, it is estimated that Hanoi welcomed about 1 million tourists, an increase of 6% over the same period last year.
International tourists numbered 142 thousand, up 15.8% over the same period last year. The top markets sending visitors include: China, South Korea, Taiwan, the US, the UK, Malaysia, India, Germany, France, Japan...
Domestic tourists reached 859,000 arrivals, up 5% over the same period last year (mainly still people from the capital and some people from neighboring localities traveling for spring travel at the beginning of the year such as Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang...).
Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND3,530 billion, up 7.85% over the same period last year.
During the recent Lunar New Year holiday, the whole city held many exciting and attractive events attracting tourists to visit and experience.
In Duong Lam ancient village (Son Tay town), the program "Vietnamese village Tet 2025" coordinated by the local government and the Duong Lam ancient village management board recreates the traditional Tet space of the North. At the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (Dong Mo), the program "Spring in the village" is organized, bringing diverse experiences of ethnic cultural colors.
Meanwhile, the central streets are bustling with a series of activities under the program “Vietnamese Tet – Street Tet 2025” implemented by the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter. The Thang Long Imperial Citadel heritage site also attracts visitors with its traditional Tet display space.
Relic sites such as Tay Ho Palace, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Su Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple... are crowded with visitors lining up to wait their turn to visit.
Hanoi organizes many exciting art activities such as fireworks, art performances to welcome the New Year at Hoan Kiem Lake, My Dinh Stadium; New Year programs at Ngoc Son Temple, the Martyrdom Monument, Lac Long Quan Flower Garden, Van Quan Lake...
