According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in April 2026, the city is estimated to welcome about 3.09 million visitors, an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, domestic visitors reached 2.31 million, an increase of 15.7%; international visitors reached about 780 thousand, an increase of 6.9%. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 12.65 trillion VND, an increase of 11.2% compared to the previous year.
In general, in the first 4 months of the year, Hanoi welcomed about 12.14 million visitors, an increase of 20.9%; total revenue from tourism reached 50.86 trillion VND, an increase of 22.8% compared to the same period.

The accommodation system in the area continues to maintain stability with 3.761 establishments, providing more than 71,000 rooms. Average room occupancy rate in April reached nearly 70%, an increase of more than 3 percentage points compared to the same period. The city currently has 61 food, shopping, and entertainment service establishments that meet standards to serve tourists, contributing to improving the quality of experience.
Notably, Hanoi is promoting the development of new tourism products in a green and sustainable direction. Two key tourist routes just introduced include "Heritage Road Nam Thang Long - Hanoi - Point to the Roots" and "Essence of Vietnamese Craft Villages", connecting many cultural destinations and traditional craft villages such as Binh Da, Quang Phu Cau, Phung Xa, Ha Thai, Cuu village...
In addition, tourism products associated with health care, education and natural experiences are also focused on such as "Healing - Calming Mind - Nourishing Wisdom" in Ba Vi or "The Way of Taoism" in Ha Mo. Some new destinations such as Tuong Phieu, Hanoi Botanical Garden, and Hanoi Museum continue to attract tourists.
Tourism promotion and advertising work has been strengthened. At the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM Hanoi 2026), the Hanoi booth with the theme "Green Tourism - Lively Moments" attracted about 90,000 visitors. The city also supports tourism promotion for many localities such as Cua Lo, Quang Ninh, Dien Bien, Can Tho.
In parallel with that, the tourism industry focuses on improving the quality of human resources through professional training programs, while promoting digital transformation and building smart tourism to improve management efficiency and tourist experience.
In the coming time, especially from May 2026, Hanoi will continue to implement key tasks such as developing a tourism development project with breakthrough solutions, aiming to attract 12 million international visitors by 2030; developing rural tourism associated with building new rural areas; promoting and advertising the 2027-2030 period.
Along with that, the city will survey and complete the dossier proposing the recognition of national tourist areas in Ba Vi, Huong Son complex and Hoan Kiem Lake area - Hanoi Old Quarter.
With positive growth momentum, Hanoi tourism is gradually affirming its role as an important economic sector, creating favorable momentum before the summer tourism peak season of 2026.
