On May 25, Hue City People's Committee had a working session with the Vietnam Cinema Association on the proposal to host and coordinate the 2026 Golden Kite Awards in Hue.
According to the proposal, Kite Week 2026 is expected to take place with many film, cultural and tourism promotion activities such as community film screenings, film crew exchanges, film seminars, food and tourism promotion galas in Hue and the Kite Awards ceremony.
The Vietnam Cinema Association said that organizing the event in Hue aims to contribute to promoting the culture, people and image of the Ancient Capital to the public at home and abroad.
Speaking at the working session, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan highly appreciated the proposal of the Vietnam Cinema Association, and agreed in principle to coordinate the organization of the 2026 Golden Kite Awards in Hue.
Hue City leaders affirmed that they will support conditions on infrastructure, facilities, security and communications for the event to take place effectively, contributing to promoting tourism and local cultural industry.
