Strong growth, domestic tours play a key role
According to data from Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company, to date, the total number of customers registering for tours on National Day September 2nd holiday has increased by about 32% compared to the same period in 2025. The domestic market accounts for nearly 70% of the total number of customers, continuing to be the main driving force with a occupancy rate of 70-80% on routes in the North, North Central Coast and Phu Quoc.
At Vietluxtour Travel Company, as of the 3rd day of the holiday, the actual number of visitors increased by 18% compared to the same period last year, completing the set plan target.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu - Marketing - Communications Director of Vietluxtour Company said: "Thanks to proactively negotiating and reserving core services such as aviation, 4-5 star accommodation, restaurants from 3 months ago, the unit did not encounter service breakdowns or local overload at tourist hotspots".
Northern cultural and historical routes, sea resorts (Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang) and international tours (Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia) are the most attractive routes.
Customers choose more carefully, opening up growth momentum for Autumn - Winter
Besides the growth momentum in quantity, the tourism picture of September 2nd records a clear change in the behavior of tourists when carefully considering the time fund, budget and service quality.
Mr. Tran Doan The Duy - General Director of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company said that instead of focusing on going far or extending the number of days, tourists prioritize suitable, convenient routes that bring a commensurate experience.
Family groups prioritize a moderate itinerary, stable service and destinations suitable for many ages. Young customers and groups of friends are more interested in exploration activities, new experiences and accommodation space. Meanwhile, middle-aged groups focus on comfort and convenience throughout the trip.
Grasping this trend, travel businesses see September 2nd as the "autumn gateway" to welcome the peak season at the end of the year.
According to Ms. Bao Thu, after the holidays, demand is expected to quickly shift to the yellow-red leaf season in Northeast Asia, cool climate routes and domestic culture - heritage, followed by Christmas - New Year, European tours, MICE and year-end reward tourism. Businesses orient "going just enough - deep experience", instead of chasing after the number of destinations or competing with the lowest prices. This creates a more sustainable growth momentum for both customers, service partners and destinations.
