Bustling Lunar New Year tourism market
Lunar New Year is the longest holiday of the year, leading to an increase in people's tourism demand. The Lunar New Year 2026 tourism market continues to record signs of recovery as both domestic and international tours are of interest to tourists from an early age.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Minh Man - Deputy General Director of VinaGroup Travel Company said that the enterprise has developed a plan to serve the peak of the Lunar New Year, focusing on both domestic and international markets.
According to Mr. Man, the number of visitors during Tet this year is expected to increase by about 10% compared to the same period.

In the period from December 24th to the 8th day of Tet, this unit designs a diverse tour ecosystem, prioritizing products that combine cultural and resort experiences. With the domestic market, the business maintains a continuous departure schedule by day or by week, creating conditions for tourists to flexibly choose a suitable Tet holiday.
Many other travel businesses also recorded an increase in the number of customers registering for Lunar New Year tours this year. Statistics from BenThanh Tourist show that the number of customers buying Tet tours increased by about 15 - 20% compared to the same period last year. In which, international tourist routes to Japan, Korea, China and Southeast Asian countries continue to be the top choice of Vietnamese tourists.
Ho Chi Minh City proactively prepares and enhances the experience for tourists
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh - Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, Tet and major holidays are the time when the tourism industry is always in the highest state of readiness. This year, tourism demand during Tet is forecast to increase sharply. Travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have proactively prepared products, services and personnel early to meet the market.
From the perspective of state management, Mr. Pham Huy Binh - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that for the 2026 Lunar New Year, with the expanded urban space, the city's tourism industry will build more unique tourism and cultural programs. Activities will be shaped according to a fixed annual timeline, helping domestic and international tourists easily access and proactively plan to participate.

To serve the Tet peak season, the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry has coordinated with departments, branches and the business community to synchronously implement many solutions. The focus is on ensuring service quality, security, and safety for tourists. At the same time, improving the experience at tourist areas and spots, contributing to creating a positive impression for city tourism in the first days of the new year.
With proactive and synchronous preparation right from the beginning of the year, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry expects to create sustainable growth momentum, contributing to realizing the goal of welcoming about 11 million international visitors and 50 million domestic visitors in 2026, with total tourism revenue estimated at about 330,000 billion VND.
