Attracting customers with unique product chains, deep experiences
Recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, localities, destinations, and travel businesses are constantly innovating products to catch up with the increasingly demanding tastes of tourists. Instead of just focusing on quantity, the current development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry focuses on extending length of stay, increasing spending and deepening experience.
Therefore, green tourism products, smart tourism, agricultural tourism, medical tourism associated with urban heritage, and night economy are promoted. In particular, linkage routes such as Con Dao are positioned towards the source - ecology - sustainable resort, preserving the original value of historical relics and indigenous ecosystems.
Representatives of Vietluxtour Travel Company said that the unit is focusing on exploiting unique cultural and historical tourism routes in Ho Chi Minh City. This is also a key product line that businesses are focusing on promoting in the year-end tourism season.
Standardizing human resource quality before the growth problem
Besides products, human resources play a direct role in creating value and deciding the experience of tourists.
According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the results of the first 8 months of 2026 continue to show the positive growth of the city's tourism, both in terms of visitor volume and total revenue. However, the larger the market scale, the higher the requirements for service quality and human resources.
To solve this problem, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has just organized a conference on human resource development for the Ho Chi Minh City hotel industry. Regarding this issue, Mr. Hoa said that technology, data and artificial intelligence are changing the way businesses operate, do business and serve customers. At the same time, tourists are increasingly demanding higher quality, personalization, speed and professionalism.
Therefore, employees in the hotel industry not only need to be proficient in their profession but also have foreign languages, digital skills, the ability to apply technology and AI, communication skills, service thinking, adaptability and lifelong learning spirit.
At the management level, the requirements are even higher when it is necessary to have human management capacity, finance, technology, customer experience, innovation and the ability to lead the organization in a constantly changing environment.
Mr. Hoa emphasized that for Ho Chi Minh City, the requirement is not only to have enough human resources to meet market growth, but also to gradually form a team capable of leading service quality, managing new business models, mastering technology and having sufficient capacity to work in an international environment.
At the same time, human resources policies must also pay attention to the differences between regions, creating training opportunities, improving skills and developing careers that are increasingly open.
