Lao Cai - Muong Bo cycling race opens a journey to explore ripe rice season, highland markets, ethnic culture and the most beautiful roads in the Northwest.

When the terraced fields in Muong Bo begin to turn golden, the off-road cycling race "Muong Bo X-Rice: Flying on the waves of golden rice - LCC10" will officially take place, bringing a new tourism product combining sports, natural experiences and exploring highland culture.

According to the Organizing Committee, the opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 PM on July 25th at the Muong Bo Commune Culture - Sports Center (Lao Cai province). The competition events start from 7:00 AM on July 26th and the closing and award ceremony is expected to end at 11:30 AM on the same day.

To date, nearly 200 athletes from inside and outside the province have registered to participate. The cyclists will compete in 5 age groups for both men and women on a mixed terrain (off-road) route about 25km long.

The attraction of the tournament lies in the journey through villages that still retain many traditional cultural features such as Muong Bo 1, Muong Bo 2, Sin Chai A, Nam Nhiu, Nam Than, Nam Cang and Nam Sai.

The route continuously changes terrain with many curves embracing mountain slopes, steep slopes, and trails between terraced fields that are in the ripe rice season, promising to bring dramatic competitions and also an opportunity for athletes and tourists to admire the beauty of the Northwest gold season.

In addition to the award system for outstanding athletes in each age group and team prizes, the Organizing Committee also awarded thematic prizes to the youngest and oldest athletes who completed the valid stage in both men's and women's events.

Not stopping at sports activities, the race is also organized as a large-scale tourism festival, creating more highlights for the Muong Bo ripe rice season.

Within the framework of the program, the "Muong Bo Market" space will take place with booths introducing local agricultural products, traditional cuisine and brocade products of ethnic minorities. In the evening, visitors can immerse themselves in the art program "Golden Season Melody" with Xoe dances, khen sounds, and unique folk songs and dances of the Mong, Dao, Tay, Xa Pho ethnic groups...

Another highlight is the beautiful photo contest "Muong Bo Golden Season" for photographers, tourists and people. The contest encourages recording impressive moments of the race between the golden rice sea, the beauty of nature, working life and cultural identity of the highland people.

According to the Organizing Committee, this is an activity to promote the image of Muong Bo in the direction of experiential tourism development, contributing to introducing the natural landscape, indigenous culture and people of Lao Cai highlands to domestic and international tourists.

With the combination of extreme sports, ripe rice season and community cultural activities, the "Flying on the waves of golden rice" race is expected to become an annual event, contributing to making Muong Bo an attractive destination in the journey to explore the golden season of the Northwest.
