Lao Cai falls into the trillion-dong revenue group from tourism during the holidays

    Lao Cai - The province welcomes about 800,000 visitors during the holidays, with a total revenue of over 2,200 billion VND.

    The Hung Kings Commemoration Festival holiday and the occasion of April 30 - May 1, which are prolonged and adjacent, have created a "push" for tourism nationwide to accelerate.

    According to statistics from the National Authority of Tourism and localities, from April 25 to May 3, 2026, many major tourist centers grew impressively.

    Ninh Binh leads the country in the number of visitors with more than 2.78 million arrivals, total estimated revenue reaching 4, 216 billion VND.

    Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City leads in tourism revenue with about 1.69 million visitors, total estimated revenue reaching 8,700 billion VND.

    In Lao Cai, locations in the province welcomed 800,000 visitors, including about 51,000 international visitors.

    Thanks to the high increase in visitors, total revenue from tourism reached about 2,217 billion VND, ranking in the group of localities with revenue exceeding the trillion VND mark during the holidays.

    The list of localities with tourism revenue of over a trillion VND also includes: Ho Chi Minh City (8.700 billion VND), Da Nang (5.727 billion VND), Hanoi (5.0000 billion VND), Quang Ninh (4.165 billion VND), Khanh Hoa (2.638 billion VND), Lam Dong (2.188 billion VND), Hue (1.350 billion VND) and Hai Phong (1.120 billion VND).

    This result shows the strong recovery of the tourism industry during the long holiday, and at the same time affirms the attractiveness of key destinations, including Lao Cai.
