The Viet Tri Open Thach Swimming Tournament and Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament - are two attractive sports tournaments organized annually by Phu Tho during the Hung Vuong Anniversary and Hung Temple Festival. Comrade Khamtay Siphandone; born on February 8, 1924; former Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, former Prime Minister, former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of National Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic passed away at 10:30 a.m. on April 2, 2025, at the age of 101.
In order to show mourning, Mr. Khamtay Siphandone and stemming from the special relationship between Vietnam - Laos, the Central Executive Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government and the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front decided to mourn Mr. Khamtay Siphandone according to the national mourning ritual in 2 days, from 4 to 5.4.2025.
