Increasing connection between Eastern Europe and Khanh Hoa tourism
According to the leader of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, after a period of preparation, the Belarus - Cam Ranh air route officially opened and went into operation from March 20.
The new air route not only opens a direct connection route between Belarus and Khanh Hoa but also demonstrates efforts to promote economic and tourism cooperation between the two sides. This is also the result of concretizing high-level cooperation agreements between the leaders of the two countries in the past time.
The opening ceremony was held at T2 International Passenger Terminal on the afternoon of March 20, with solemn ceremonies such as speeches by leaders of Khanh Hoa province, representatives of the Belarusian Embassy and airlines, and the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to put the flight route into operation.
At 3:30 pm on the same day, the Airbus A330-200 flight numbered B2795, carrying 281 passengers from Minsk, landed at Cam Ranh International Airport. The plane was welcomed with a water cannon salute.
Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and related units directly presented flowers, souvenirs and sent greetings to the first passengers on the flight. Inside the terminal, tourists continued to enjoy traditional art performances and receive souvenirs typical of the locality.
The flight welcome activity not only marks the beginning of a new connection journey but also demonstrates the determination of relevant agencies and units in promoting cooperation and tourism development, contributing to the development of tourism and business potential.
Opening more doors to welcome international visitors to Khanh Hoa
According to the assessment of Khanh Hoa's tourism industry, the Belarus tourist market is showing signs of positive recovery. In 2024, the locality welcomed more than 3,200 Belarus tourists; by 2025 it will increase to nearly 8,900, equivalent to a growth rate of about 173%. In the first two months of 2026 alone, the number of visitors reached more than 2,100, equivalent to about 24% of the whole year of 2025.
The operation of direct flights is expected to create a strong boost, contributing to increasing the source of international visitors, especially from the Eastern European market.
Not only Belarus, Khanh Hoa has also recorded strong recovery in other international markets such as Russia, Korea, China and Southeast Asia recently.
The international air route system is continuously expanded, making Cam Ranh one of the bustling aviation and tourism centers of the country.
In the first two months of 2026, Khanh Hoa province achieved tourism revenue of nearly 13,915 billion VND, an increase of more than 25% compared to the same period. The number of overnight visitors reached more than 1.77 million, of which international visitors accounted for more than 741,000, an increase of nearly 30%.
In 2026, Khanh Hoa aims to welcome about 18.8 million visitors, including 6.3 million international visitors. Total tourism revenue is expected to reach about 77,000 billion VND.
To achieve this goal, the locality is promoting the improvement of service quality, developing a variety of tourism products such as high-class resorts, sea and island tourism, MICE, ecotourism and culture. At the same time, continuing to expand international routes, strengthening links with airlines and travel businesses to attract more tourists.
