On the evening of March 20, Da Nang city organized a program to celebrate flights from Manila (Philippines) and Bali (Indonesia) operated by AirAsia Airlines, marking a new step in expanding the city's international aviation connection network with Southeast Asia.

At 3:20 PM, Philippine AirAsia flight Z2824, departing from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Manila), landed at Da Nang International Airport, bringing 180 passengers on the flight from the Philippines to the city.
According to the operating plan, the Manila - Da Nang route is operated by Philippine AirAsia with a frequency of 4 flights/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft. The commissioning of this route contributes to strengthening direct connections between Da Nang and the Philippine market - a dynamic tourism market in the region.
Next, at 5:55 PM on the same day, Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ480, departing from Ngurah Rai International Airport (Bali), landed at Da Nang International Airport, with 180 passengers on the flight from Bali to the city.
This is also the first direct route connecting Bali (Indonesia) with Da Nang. The Bali - Da Nang route operated by Indonesia AirAsia with a frequency of 4 flights/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft, contributing to expanding the connection network between Da Nang and one of the leading tourist destinations in the region.
The program to welcome flights from Manila & Bali - Da Nang of AirAsia is held at International Terminal T2 - Da Nang International Airport.
Within the framework of the event, many welcoming activities took place such as the water cannon salute ceremony to welcome flights, welcome art performances, flight path opening ceremony, giving flowers and souvenirs to passengers and taking souvenir photos. Tourists on flights expressed their excitement at the friendly and hospitable welcome of Da Nang city.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee said that AirAsia Airlines' official operation of the Manila - Da Nang route, along with the opening of the Bali - Da Nang direct route from March 20, 2026, is of great significance in expanding the aviation connection network and creating motivation for the city's tourism development.
These routes not only shorten travel time between Da Nang and dynamic tourist centers in the region, but also contribute to promoting cultural, trade, and tourism exchanges, strengthening visitor exchanges and expanding cooperation with Southeast Asian destinations, while improving access to potential markets such as Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
The City People's Committee expressed its expectation that AirAsia Airlines, with its advantage of a wide flight network, will continue to promote its role as a bridge, contributing to stronger attracting international tourists to Da Nang.
