On the North-South Unified railway line, in addition to 6 regular passenger train pairs including SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10 and SE11/12, the railway industry operates 4 more SE23 and SE24 trains, departing from Hanoi and Saigon on August 28 and 31. 8.
On sectional routes, 33 trains are organized to run additionally. The Hanoi - Da Nang route maintains the SE19/20 pair and strengthens SE17 on August 29, SE18 on August 30. 8. The Hanoi - Vinh route runs additional NA3 on August 28 and QB2 on August 1 and 2. 9. The Hanoi - Dong Hoi route runs additional QB1 on August 28 and QB2 on August 31.
The Hanoi - Hai Phong route is increased by 12 trips during the holidays, in addition to 4 pairs of trains running regularly every day. Increased trips include LP9 from August 29 to September 1, LP10 from August 30 to September 2, HP3 on August 29 and 30, HP4 on September 1 and 9.
In the South, the railway industry is increasing vehicles on the Saigon - Quy Nhon, Saigon - Nha Trang and Saigon - Phan Thiet routes. In which, the Saigon - Quy Nhon route runs 2 more trips; Saigon - Nha Trang increased by 7 trips and Saigon - Phan Thiet increased by 5 trips.
As of August 21, the entire system has sold more than 64,000 train tickets to serve the September 2nd National Day holiday.
Along with increasing transport capacity, the railway industry will launch a new tourism product connecting heritage destinations in the Central region.
Accordingly, on the morning of August 28, at Dong Hoi station, Vietnam National Railways Group is expected to open the Hue - Tho Loc tourist train named "Hue - Phong Nha Ancient Capital: Journey of World Heritage". The first train, numbered HQ3, is expected to depart from Dong Hoi station to Hue station.
The train consists of 8 carriages, capable of serving more than 300 passengers. Including 5 soft seat carriages designed to rotate 180 degrees, a 24-seat VIP carriage along with community carriages and service carriages.
Putting the Hue - Tho Loc tourist train into operation creates more choices for tourists when exploring heritage destinations in the Central region, and at the same time opens up a direction to combine passenger transport and railway tourism product development.
