This is an annual cultural foreign affairs event bearing Hoi An's own imprint, further affirming the long-standing close relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
Within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae expressed his desire to visit Hoi An - a place that preserves the imprint of the Japanese community who once lived and traded more than 400 years ago. The Covered Bridge relic, which has just been completed and restored with the cooperation of Japan, continues to become a vivid symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The opening ceremony took place at 7:30 PM on May 22 at An Hoi Sculpture Garden with the participation of Vietnamese and Japanese art troupes, famous artists and a large number of people and international tourists.

The highlight of the event is a series of activities spanning the space of the Old Quarter such as street art exchanges in the Covered Bridge area, recreating the "Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa and merchant Araki Sotaro procession", an exhibition of traditional Japanese dolls, calligraphy performances, Ikebana flower arrangement art and traditional and contemporary cultural exchange programs.
The festival atmosphere is also renewed with a Cosplay contest and many experiential activities for young people. Spaces displaying images of Hoi An - Japan cultural exchange, the "Ancient Footprints of Japan" visit program, Vietnam - Japan cultural experience, introduction of Hizen ceramics, cuisine, tourism and Japanese cultural products will take place throughout the event.
In particular, the 10-year summary program of the Terakoya free Japanese class in Hoi An will take place on the morning of May 22 at 10B Tran Hung Dao. This is considered a beautiful mark in educational exchange activities, contributing to fostering friendship and connecting the young generation Vietnam - Japan.
Through 22 times of organization, the event continues to affirm its role as a sustainable cultural bridge between Hoi An, Da Nang and localities and Japanese partners; and at the same time spread the image of a creative, friendly and culturally rich heritage city.
