Introducing traditional Korean culture to Vietnamese tourists

"Traditions that make up today's life" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, from October 25 to November 3.

The program "That's Korea: Tradition Shaping Today's Daily Life" aims to introduce diverse traditional Korean cultural products such as Hanbok, handicraft products...

Accordingly, products originating from traditional Korean culture with modernity and usefulness will be displayed and introduced to Vietnamese tourists.

The exhibition is expected to display 112 types of traditional cultural products from 23 startups such as “OUWR” – a business that designs Hanbok and performance costumes for the group Blackpink, “Gangsan Brewery” – a business that produces traditional alcohol in a modern style, “KIM BYEOL HEE” – a business that handcrafts traditional teapots and cups...

According to the organizers, many diverse traditional cultural experience programs will also take place within the framework of the exhibition.

Visitors can experience modern mother-of-pearl inlay combined with Minhwa paintings in collaboration with “HORAY Pearl Prints Shop”, and experience playing traditional games such as Yutnori, Anapji dice in collaboration with “Woorinori” - businesses under the “Traditional Entrepreneurship Today” project.

In particular, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in many other diverse traditional Korean cultural experiences such as wearing Hanbok, making cup bases from Hanji paper, experiencing Korean tea culture...

The Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam also organized the program "Vietnam - Korea Friendship Cultural Festival in Ho Chi Minh City" to enhance the effectiveness of promotion in Vietnam through a booth promoting hanbok, experiencing traditional Korean culture and hanbok - ao dai fashion show in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Lee Hae Don - Director of the Cultural Policy Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea said: "This program is of great significance as it aims to create opportunities for overseas promotion for start-ups in the field of traditional Korean culture. Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, are countries with a high level of interest in the Korean cultural wave Hallyu.

We hope that through this program, products featuring the beauty of traditional Korean culture will further develop both domestically and internationally, becoming cultural products that blend into the daily lives of everyone today."
