According to the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, from August 29 to September 2, the bus system in the city will operate from 4:30 AM to 10:30 PM.
In which, on August 29th, August 31st and September 1st, September 2nd, buses operate according to the normal day chart with about 17,600 trips per day. On August 30th, buses operate according to the Sunday chart, with more than 17,300 trips.
For urban railways, during the 5-day holiday, two lines 2A and 3.1 operate from 5:30 am to 10 pm, with a frequency of about 10 minutes/trip. Line 2A is expected to operate 203 train trips/day, while line 3.1 is about 200 train trips/day.
To meet the increasing travel demand during the National Day holiday, Hanoi prepared 42 backup buses and 100 increased trips on 20 routes. Vehicles are prioritized to be arranged on routes connecting bus stations, transfer points, train stations and large urban areas.
Routes with high travel demand such as routes 16, 01 and 32 are arranged with backup vehicles to be ready to increase trips. In which, route 16 (My Dinh Bus Station - Nuoc Ngam Bus Station), route 01 (Gia Lam Bus Station - Yen Nghia Bus Station) and route 32 (Giap Bat Bus Station - Nhon) are expected to increase by 8 trips each.
Electric bus routes E01, E02 and E03 are also arranged with 6 backup vehicles, expected to increase by 12 trips, serving travel needs between bus stations, the central area and Ocean Park urban area.
The Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center said it will monitor the situation at terminals and crowded passenger points to promptly coordinate, clear passengers and mobilize more vehicles when necessary.
For urban railways, operating units are required to ensure safe and smooth operation on two lines 2A and 3.1, and proactively plan to clear passengers at stations in case the number of passengers increases.
