On February 1, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province informed that from January 29 to 31 (the first to third days of Lunar New Year), the whole province welcomed 105,000 tourists. Total revenue from tourism in the past days is estimated at nearly 35 billion VND.
At Dak Lak Provincial Museum alone, from January 22 to January 31, there were 280 groups with 1,680 visitors. Of these, there were 146 international visitors and 1,534 domestic visitors.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, commented: "The number of tourists coming to the province during Tet this year increased slightly compared to the same period last year."
According to Ms. Hieu, this growth was achieved thanks to the fact that many tourist destinations and areas have improved their service quality. Many units have upgraded their infrastructure to serve tourists during Tet.
The unit also thoroughly instructed tourism units in the area to guide staff to welcome guests in a thoughtful and methodical manner.
At tourist sites and areas, regulations on registration, listing of entrance fees, parking fees and services must be followed. Through this, tourists can proactively choose suitable services to have a complete Tet holiday.
According to Ms. Hieu, right after the Lunar New Year holiday, Dak Lak province will organize many important events, especially the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.
Resort and tourism service businesses need to continue to prepare well for welcoming tourists. Units must publicly list ticket prices, services and provide protective equipment for tourists.
Before Tet, the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism inspected, disciplined and guided 4 establishments to strictly comply with regulations on tourism business and advertising.
Authorities organized inspections of preparations for Tet at 24 tourist areas and spots in the area.
