According to statistics from the Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, in the first 3 days of the holiday, the total number of people completing entry and exit procedures through Lao Cai International Border Gate reached 45,418 turns.
On the outbound side, there were 25,893 turns of people completing procedures. Of which, 20,817 turns exited with passport, including 19,779 Vietnamese citizens and 1,038 Chinese citizens.
For the form of passport exit, there were 5,076 people, including 2,952 Vietnamese citizens, 1,980 Chinese citizens and 144 third-country nationals.
On the entry side, there were 19,525 turns of people completing procedures. Of which, 17,201 turns entered with passport, including 16,090 Vietnamese citizens and 1,111 Chinese citizens.
Entering with passports were 2,324 people, including 1,754 Chinese tourists, 481 Vietnamese citizens and 89 third-country nationals.
The sharp increase in the number of people entering and leaving the country in the early days of the holidays has made activities at Lao Cai International Border Gate more bustling than usual.
To meet the increasing demand for travel, trade and tourism, functional forces at the border gate have proactively developed plans, increased the number of troops on duty, organized traffic diversion, remote regulation and arranged additional checkpoints.
Procedure processing time is also extended during times when a large number of people gather, in order to limit congestion and create convenience for people and tourists.
According to records, in the exit procedure area, many tourists have to queue to wait for their turn. Traffic diversion is implemented to ensure stable traffic flow and avoid overcrowded gatherings at one time.
With a large number of people passing by, immigration control is carried out in parallel with facilitating trade and tourism, ensuring that people and tourists can resolve procedures quickly and safely.
Ensuring smooth customs clearance not only meets the travel needs of people and tourists but also contributes to maintaining trade activities through border gates, promoting tourism and economic connection between Lao Cai and Yunnan province (China).
