On the first day of the 2026 New Year holiday, many tourists from all over flocked to An Giang. Among them, sea and island tourism has always been a strong attraction for local tourists.
Lao Dong Newspaper recorded that in the wharf area in Rach Gia ward on the morning of January 1, tourists gathered early to go to the islands.

Ms. Vu Thuy Hoai, residing in An Giang province, said: "Our group has 12 people, going on a 2-day 1-night tour to Hon Son. I have also traveled to many places, but Hon Son has not gone and saw the scenery on the internet as too beautiful, so this time I went. The upcoming Lunar New Year has more rest, we plan to go to Phu Quoc".
Mr. Trinh Ngoc Phat, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "We took a passenger car from Ho Chi Minh City down to Rach Gia to stay for 1 night so that we could get on the train to Phu Quoc today. My group explored independently, not on a tour. A small group of 5 people, had a schedule and a plan to rent a car and then went to the destinations themselves according to their preferences.

According to the An Giang Tourism Association, currently it is the peak season for international tourists to visit and relax in Phu Quoc.
