“Highland Market” 2025 with more than 50 booths introducing local specialties and traditional cuisine of highland ethnic groups to visitors. Many traditional dishes such as thang co, grilled fish, grilled chicken... bring unique culinary flavors, attracting a large number of visitors to enjoy.
The market scene is recreated cheerfully and bustlingly with the combination of panpipe dance, folk songs, folk dances, traditional crafts with the colors of the Mong, Dao, Thai ethnic groups (Thanh Hoa) and groups of Northern people who are active daily in the Village.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hien (71 years old, Hanoi) excitedly shared: “I have visited the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism many times during the New Year, and every time I have found the atmosphere here very joyful and bustling. This year, the market space has many more beautifully decorated stalls, helping me have a more memorable experience of going to the highland market.”
In addition to the booths and art activities, "Highland Market - Welcome New Year 2025" also decorated many miniatures, displayed "Colors of the Market" paintings to introduce the beauty of the land and people of the mountainous district of Thanh Hoa and some photos of the cultural space held at the Cultural - Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.
Not having plans to travel far for the New Year, Vuong Khanh Linh (19 years old, Hanoi) and her friends chose to go to the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism to experience the highland market.
“This is the first time I have participated in a highland market. In addition to the unique artistic activities, I also had the opportunity to learn more about the products and culture of the highland people through weaving and scarf embroidery,” said Khanh Linh.
Mr. Trinh Ngoc Chung - Acting Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village said that the "Welcome New Year 2025" activities taking place on the occasion of the New Year this year always focus on festivals, customs and practices that bring a joyful atmosphere and unique cultural values of ethnic groups to visitors. Thereby contributing to promoting and raising awareness to preserve and promote the cultural values of ethnic groups.
Taking place from December 31, 2024 to January 1, 2025, in addition to the highland market, the "Welcome New Year 2025" activities at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism also include the "new rice celebration" ceremony of the Thai ethnic group, the lucky festival of ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa province... promising to bring interesting experiences to visitors on the occasion of New Year 2025.
