In recent days, the area from Hue to Quang Ngai has recorded common rainfall of 400-600 mm, with Bach Ma peak alone exceeding 2,000 mm. River water levels rose, in some places exceeding the historical flood level in 2020.
Severe flooding in many locations from Hue to Quang Ngai has paralyzed tourism activities.
Ms. Roisin Bracken (25 years old, Ireland) experienced a flood on October 26-27 in Hue. Before moving to the Central region, she was warned by a tour guide in Ha Giang about the weather that could cause heavy rain in Hue.
The female tourist shared: "When we flew to Hue, it was raining very heavily. Therefore, we did not do much, mainly sitting and drinking coffee and then going back to the hotel to rest overnight. We agreed that we would not go through planned tourist destinations such as the famous salted coffee shop in Dang Thai Than, Dai Noi Hue, Dong Ba market, abandoned water park or attend Madam Tran's cooking class".
"Although we come from a land with a lot of rain, we have never seen flooding this heavily," Ms. Roisin added.
This was also the first time an Irish female tourist has sat on a wooden boat to travel in the city. After a night in Hue, she and her friend planned to move to Hoi An. Therefore, the hotel helped her find a boat to escape the flooded area.

She said: "I personally really feel worried about the local people living in flooded areas. Hopefully they will overcome this period strongly. And we decided to return to Hue in December to carry out activities that we have not been able to do on this trip."
Mr. Braden M (32 years old, Australia) has witnessed flooding in his hometown many times, but for him, the flood during this trip to Hoi An was actually much worse. He arrived in Hoi An 4 days before the ancient town was submerged in water.
The male tourist said: "My travel plans were somewhat affected. I just thought it would rain but I didn't think the flood would be so severe. On the first day of heavy rain, I chose to sit in a coffee shop; the second day, I just stayed in a hotel; the third day started to flood and on the fourth day, our hotel was also flooded."
That day, Mr. Braden kept waking up all night to check the water level. At 5am, he was informed by the hotel team that he would take a boat to evacuate to areas with higher positions.

"The flooding also made me a little disappointed about my trip because I wanted to experience the cuisine and scenery of the old town. However, I always have a love for Hoi An. This experience is also a new thing. Vietnam is great, I like to eat Quang noodles and I will definitely return to Hoi An in the future," Mr. Braden confided.
