According to the original plan, the Vietnam Military History Museum will open free of charge from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. After that, the museum will charge visitors.
However, the museum has not officially started selling tickets yet.
Responding to Lao Dong about this issue, a representative of the Vietnam Military History Museum said that the museum is still discussing a fee collection plan, including a reasonable fee level and collection time. The official fee level will be announced as soon as possible.
Previously, the Vietnam Military History Museum was located at 28A Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. The entrance fee to the museum was 10,000-20,000 VND/visit for Vietnamese citizens and 40,000 VND/visit for foreign visitors.
The Vietnam Military History Museum was newly built in 2019 in Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi, on an area of 386,600 m². This project has a modern design, with a total investment of about 2,500 billion VND, and will officially open to visitors for free from November 1, 2024.
In the first days of opening, the museum continuously attracted attention with the number of visitors increasing every day. Especially on weekends, the museum recorded more than 60,000 visitors, a record number never seen before in a museum in Vietnam.
Currently, the museum is preserving more than 150,000 artifacts, including 4 national treasures. In addition, the museum also displays many weapons and military equipment from the resistance wars, such as 85mm cannons, PT67 tanks, MiG-17 aircraft, and artifacts used by the French and American armies during the war in Vietnam.
The museum is designed in a modern style, creating an interactive space and experience about the history of building and defending the country, and the struggles for national independence of the Vietnamese people. In addition, the Vietnam History Museum also includes many beautiful photo angles for visitors to check-in and explore.
