Cold air is forecast to continue affecting the North and then spread to the North Central and North Central regions, with the possibility of frost and frost.

According to the latest weather report from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected the mountainous and midland areas of the Northeast.

From the night of January 10, cold air continues to strengthen, affecting the Northwest, Central Central and some places in the South Central. Northeast winds inland gradually strengthen to level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.

In the North, North Central and Central Central regions, the weather continues to be cold. From the night of January 10-12, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will be very cold, with some places experiencing severe cold. In high mountainous areas, there is a possibility of frost and frost.

From January 11-12, the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa regions will experience severe cold. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the North will generally be 9-12 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North 6-9 degrees Celsius, in the high mountainous areas below 5 degrees Celsius; in the North Central region, it will generally be 10-13 degrees Celsius; in the area from Quang Binh to Hue, it will generally be 14-17 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi area is cold, from 11-12.01 it is very cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 9-12 degrees Celsius.

At sea, in the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa), the Northeast wind will gradually increase to level 7, gusting to level 8-9, with rough seas and waves 3.0-5.0m high. In the Southwestern East Sea (including Truong Sa) and from Khanh Hoa to Binh Thuan, the Northeast wind will increase to level 6, from tomorrow increasing to level 7, gusting to level 8-9, with rough seas and waves 2.0-4.5m high.

In the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind gradually increases to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 1.5-3.5m high; in the sea area from Quang Tri to Phu Yen and the central East Sea, the Northeast wind gradually increases to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 2.0-4.5m high.

The sea area from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Ca Mau has northeast wind gradually increasing to level 6, tomorrow it will be level 7 at times, gusting to level 8-9, rough sea, waves 2.0-4.5m high.

Due to the influence of the cold air strengthening, the area from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh will have rain, showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. From the night of January 10-12, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will be very cold, some places will be very cold, high mountainous areas may have frost and frost.

From January 11-12, the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa will experience severe cold. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

Thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning and strong winds can affect agricultural production, break trees, damage houses and infrastructure. Localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes. Strong winds and large waves can affect boating and other activities at sea. Severe cold, frost, ice and frost can affect crops and livestock.
