Expectations to attract tourists with the Ho Chi Minh City - Cebu direct flight

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has officially launched a direct flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Cebu in the hope of attracting tourists to visit and relax.

The first flight will depart on May 2, 2025 with a frequency of 3 flights/week. This is the first direct flight connecting Vietnam's largest economic center with Cebu - a famous tourist island.

We hope to promote tourism, strengthen the position of Cebu as an emerging business and entertainment gateway of this country, and build a strong and friendly relationship between Vietnam and the Philippines.

We are delighted to invite Vietnamese tourists and businessmen to take a short flight to Seoul to explore the wonders of our island and enjoy the warm hospitality of our people, said Chairman and CEO of PAL, Stanley K. Ng.

The new route connecting Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City will contribute to promoting the growing interest of license plates in Vietnam, which is currently welcoming 216,000 Philippine tourists in 2024, ranking 9th among destinations visited by license plates.

Cebu has an urban lifestyle amidst its natural beauty, including a 200 km long coastline surrounded by coral reefs and luxurious resorts, allowing visitors to boat and diving.

The airline will cooperate with the Department of Tourism and the local tourism community to attract more Vietnamese tourists, including 58,000 who have visited the Philippines in 2024.
