Lam Dong requests departments, branches, and localities to tighten inspection and control of waterway vehicles and safety conditions in tourist transport activities.

On July 24, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province requested departments, branches, and localities in the province to tighten ensuring the safety of inland waterway vehicles and operate tourist canoes.

This move was made in the context that Lam Dong has many types of waterway transport and tourism attracting many tourists such as the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy high-speed ferry route, canoes to take visitors to Hon Tranh, Hon Cau, Mui Ke Ga or water motorbikes at Mui Ne beach.

At the request of the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the police force will strengthen patrols and control of the operation of ships, canoes and waterway vehicles; strictly handle vehicles, wharves, organizations and individuals who do not meet safety conditions or violate regulations. At the same time, waterway rescue and relief plans are also reviewed and supplemented to be ready to respond when incidents occur.

The Provincial Border Guard is assigned to closely monitor weather developments, not allowing passenger vehicles to depart when conditions are not safe. Vehicle owners must strictly comply with regulations on the number of passengers, equip life jackets, life buoys and safety equipment.
