    Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Dong Van district has evacuated the people of the ancient village of Thien Huong to a safe place. Mr. Hoang Hieu, currently living in Ha Giang, said that the government has mobilized people to relocate to a new resettlement area about 500m away from the old village. "Because of the traces of geological cracks in the old village, there is currently no announcement about a specific restoration or repair plan," he said. Photo: Hoang Hieu

    A business had to lock its gates and abandon it due to the severe impact of the storm. To ensure safety, villagers were all relocated to new homes to stabilize their lives. According to the Dong Van District People's Committee, about 14 households in the village had to move out of unsafe houses.     The risk of the village being "erased" is getting bigger and bigger over time, due to the effects of natural disasters over the past years. For the people in the ancient village of Thien Huong, perhaps this place now only exists in memory. The Department of Agriculture of Dong Van district has made a plan, advised the People's Committee of Dong Van district to relocate and establish a resettlement area for local people. As of November, the project has been established and submitted to the authorities for policies to re-establish the village and stabilize the lives of the people. The locality encourages the people of Thien Huong village to restore the architecture of the ancient village in the resettlement area, to develop the tourist village and not lose the ancient architecture of the Tay people.
