Every spring, when the weather is still a bit chilly in the first days of the new year, Lang Son people are preparing for one of the biggest and most unique festivals in the border area - the Ky Cung - Ta Phu Temple Festival.
This is not only a spiritual event bearing a strong historical imprint but also a festival of the people of Lang Son, expressing traditional cultural values, solidarity and gratitude to ancestors.

During the festival days, present at the border of Lang Son, according to Lao Dong, large theaters are built close to both sides of the road, making everyone amazed. Many households and clans are willing to spend tens of millions of VND to rent theaters and display table games right on the main streets, welcoming people from near and far.
The festival atmosphere was bustling and bustling, thousands of people crowded together on the roads leading to the two sacred temples to offer offer offerings, pray for peace and participate in the firecracker robbery ceremony - the most attractive activity of the festival.
Despite the cold weather, people and tourists from all over the country still flock to the festival. On National Highway 1 and the routes leading to Lang Son city, the traffic flow is dense and cramped.

According to information from the People's Committee of Lang Son City, from February 19 to February 24 (ie January 22 to 27 of the year At Ty), the festival attracted 820,600 visitors, an increase of nearly 300,000 compared to the same period last year.
Total revenue from service activities during the festival reached about 985 billion VND.
On January 27 alone, the city welcomed 356,200 visitors, an increase of more than 71,000 compared to 2024, with an estimated revenue of 534 billion VND. In particular, the accommodation and catering sector recorded the highest growth rate when all of these service businesses were fully booked and operated at full capacity during the festival days.
In addition, passenger transportation services and necessities are also popular, contributing to creating a vibrant atmosphere for the biggest festival in Lang Son province.
The Ky Cung - Ta Phu Temple Festival is held annually from the 22nd to the 27th of the first lunar month in Lang Son city. This is a festival to commemorate the two sacred gods Quan Lon Tuan Tranh, the river-rule god, worshiped at Ky Cung Temple, and Ta Adral Han District Cong Tai - the person who made great contributions to the development of Lang Son land, worshiped at Ta Phu Temple.
The festival is not only an opportunity for people to pray for a year of favorable weather and prosperous business, but also an opportunity for people to meet, exchange, and maintain the traditional cultural beauty of the nation.
