Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Race in Can Tho City in 2025. The festival takes place from November 3 to 5 in Phu Loi ward and Soc Trang ward with many rich activities such as: opening ceremony, moon offering ceremony, releasing Loi protip water lanterns and Ca Hau boats, trade promotion fair for OCOP products and regional specialties.
The highlight is the Ngo Boat Race on the Maspero River, taking place over 2 days, November 4 - 5, with the participation of about 60 men's and women's teams inside and outside the city. The teams will compete in the two distances of 1,200m for men and 1,000m for women, the qualifying round, semi-finals and finals, promising to bring a bustling atmosphere, attracting a large number of people and tourists.

The festival aims to honor the traditional cultural beauty of the Khmer people in Can Tho City, especially in cultural activities and festivals, meeting the spiritual needs of ethnic groups in general and the Khmer people in particular. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to preserve and promote the cultural and religious values typical of the Khmer people.
The festival also aims to diversify activities, create unique experiences to promote tourism potential and strengths; attract and mobilize investment resources to develop tourism infrastructure; raise community awareness and encourage people to participate in tourism development.
In 2022, the Vietnam Record Organization recognized the Record "Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo boat racing in Soc Trang (now Can Tho City) with the largest number of ngo boats and athletes".
