On the evening of April 25, at Nguyen Van Linh Square (Pho Hien ward, Hung Yen province), the opening ceremony of the Pho Hien Folk Culture Festival 2026 took place solemnly, attracting a large number of people and tourists, creating a bustling and brilliant atmosphere in the heart of the city.
This year's festival is organized on a provincial scale, taking place from April 25 to 27, with a harmonious combination of the ceremonial part and the festival part. The highlight is the opening art program with the theme "Pho Hien: Fame is not lost - Returning to the land of relics", gathering more than 450 actors and artists, vividly recreating the prosperous period of the ancient Pho Hien trading port.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Nghiem - Vice Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that Hung Yen is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, currently preserving thousands of relics and festivals.
In which, the Pho Hien relic complex is a typical highlight, reflecting a period of brilliant development of Dang Ngoai's busiest trading port. The organization of the festival aims to honor, preserve and promote heritage values, and at the same time promote the local image, contributing to promoting cultural tourism development.
Mr. Pham Van Nghiem also said that the province is focusing resources on restoring and embellishing relics and building a Project to recreate the ancient Pho Hien Trade Port, aiming to form a unique cultural and tourist destination, meeting the sightseeing and experiential needs of people and tourists in the coming time.
According to records, from early morning, thousands of people flocked to the square area to watch the program. The festival space was brilliant with lights and sounds, the surrounding areas were crowded with people, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh (Luong Bang commune, Hung Yen province) shared: "The festival atmosphere is very cheerful, the program is elaborately staged, watching is very attractive. My family took advantage of coming early to immerse ourselves in the bustling atmosphere of the opening night.
The Pho Hien Folk Culture Festival 2026 takes place with many rich activities such as incense offering, palanquin procession, folk art performances, traditional games... contributing to preserving and spreading the unique cultural values of Pho Hien land.
