Cho Cui Temple is a spiritual and cultural site over 500 years old with the popular name of Cui Temple, or Holy Mother Linh Tu, honoring the famous general Hoang Muoi - who fought against the Ming invaders and protected the country's borders during the Le Dynasty.
According to tradition, every year on the 10th day of the 10th lunar month, the local government and people organize a festival and the death anniversary of Saint Hoang Muoi at Cho Cui Temple to pay tribute and commemorate Saint Hoang Muoi - "Saint Minh of Nghe An".
This year, Nghi Xuan district organized a series of activities on the occasion of the death anniversary of Saint Hoang Muoi, including: Seminar on “Preserving and promoting the values of the national relic of Cho Cui Temple”; practicing the Mother Goddess worship; volleyball tournament of Xuan Hong commune; art program “Sacredness of Cho Cui Temple”.
In particular, the death anniversary, palanquin procession, and incense offering ceremony of Saint Hoang Muoi are solemnly and respectfully organized to educate the tradition of patriotism and promote spiritual tourism destinations in the area to visitors from all over.
