Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) agreed on a plan to temporarily close Lien Khuong airport within 6 months to upgrade runways and taxiways, with a total cost of more than 1,045 billion VND.
The specific closing time has not been set. Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee recommends that investors choose a suitable time, avoiding the peak tourist season to reduce the impact on people, businesses and the local economy.
The upgraded project will replace the runway surface with reinforced concrete, expanding technical items to improve long-term exploitation capacity. The Provincial People's Committee studies and proposes to build a second runway.
Lien Khuong Airport is located in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, about 28km from the center of Da Lat city. The project was built by France in Bre bre bre breaking in00.
In 1997, the runway at Lien Khuong airport was extended from 1,480m to 2,354m, meeting the standards of a level 3C airport according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The airport serves domestic flights for 5 airlines (Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Bamboo Airways, Vietjet Air and Vasco) with an average of 34-36 flights/day, about 6,700 passengers, connecting Da Lat with major provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the plan, by 2030, this airport will reach level 4E, serve 5 million passengers/year and can accommodate wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 787 and Airbus A350.
