Every year, during the golden rice season, the Thai, Mong and La Ha ethnic groups organize a new Rice Festival to express gratitude to their ancestors, the earth and sky, and pray for favorable weather and good harvest.
This year's festival attracted a large number of people in 15 villages in Ngoc Chien and thousands of tourists from inside and outside the province to attend.

The ceremony was solemnly held at Don Ho Church, Muong Chien Village with a new meal offering ceremony. The offering tray includes sticky rice, green rice, chicken, pork, celery... to express gratitude to our ancestors and the earth and sky.

The festival took place in a vibrant atmosphere with many unique folk games such as rice pounding, khakioting, bird's nest hunting, art, football, traditional costume competition and Ngoc Chien's beauty...
In particular, the "Bull Prince" contest has created a unique strong impression on visitors. The strong buffaloes were selected to compete, to honor the labor force and the beauty of the livestock culture of the people in the highlands.
Mr. Lo Van Thoa - Vice Chairman of Ngoc Chien Commune People's Committee said that the Festival not only preserves cultural identity but also contributes to promoting tourism, creating jobs and increasing income for people.

In the golden color of the ripe rice season, the New Rice Festival in Ngoc Chien has become a unique cultural and tourism destination in the Northwest highlands.
