On January 9, at the 2026 cherry tree planting launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tran Khanh - Vice Chairman of Muong Phang Commune People's Committee, Dien Bien province said that the commune strives to plant 50,000 cherry trees in the 2026-2030 period.
In 2026 alone, the commune strives to plant 10,000 cherry trees, of which phase 1 plants 590 trees at key locations.
Leaders of Muong Phang commune said that tree planting activities are the beginning of the roadmap to build a green landscape space, creating a unique ecological and tourism highlight of the locality.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates and people planted trees at Muong Phang Victory Celebration Park, along National Highway 279B, Keo, Che Can villages and schools in the commune.
Currently, in the cherry blossom island area in the middle of Pa Khoang lake, Muong Phang commune is entering the most brilliant time. The flower island area, which is more than 7 hectares wide, currently owns 20 different flower varieties, mostly Edohigan Zakura varieties with about 120,000 trees.
