In response to the people's proposal, the Traffic Signal and Public Transport Information Center on August 5 announced that the Department of Transport has issued a notice inviting investment interest in the business of transporting tourists by 1-storey and 2-storey open-roof cars to interested investors and transport businesses.
According to the Department of Transport, the invitation for interested investors to submit applications for registration of tourist transport business by 1-storey and 2-storey open-roof cars aims to implement the direction of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on implementing solutions to develop the night-time economy in the tourism sector until 2025.
In addition, the Department of Transport also said that the operating contracts of the routes operated by Quang An 1 Company have expired. Therefore, according to the law, to select a unit to continue operating, the Center is coordinating with relevant parties to build a dossier to organize a bidding to select an operating unit.
Considering that routes 16 and 17 have the highest passenger volume, the Center is adjusting some non-subsidized routes with low passenger volume to strengthen these two busy routes.
The Traffic Signal and Public Transport Operation Center will try to coordinate with relevant parties to soon put these routes back into operation to better serve the travel needs of people on the routes.
At the same time, coordinate with the operating unit and relevant parties to monitor and survey to evaluate the operational efficiency of newly opened non-subsidized bus routes to make appropriate route adjustments and as a premise for opening new routes according to the route planning roadmap approved by the City People's Committee.
This unit has also requested the operating unit to immediately rectify the situation of skipping trips and not stopping to pick up passengers. Violators will be strictly punished according to the regulations of the operating contract, and the situation of slow updating of information on the running time on the application will be resolved.
