Mr. Nguyen Quang Dien - Chairman of Do Son Ward People's Committee said: Do Son is a land located in the Southeast of Hai Phong City, with 3 sides bordering the sea that has been known for a long time, is a famous resort and beachfront in Northern Vietnam. In recent years, Do Son Tourism has been effectively exploiting its inherent potentials and strengths, contributing to the economic restructuring of the locality.

However, according to Mr. Dien, in the current context, Do Son also faces many significant challenges in needing to change tourism thinking and methods, improve service quality in the area to attract tourists. Therefore, adjusting the planning orientation for new Do Son tourism development and finding mechanisms and policies, breakthrough solutions to effectively exploit associated resources is a necessary task in the current period.
According to Mr. Tran Van Ngoc - Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: The history of tourism development in Northern Vietnam has always recognized Do Son as a famous tourist destination, a symbol of sea resort tourism. According to the Decision on Adjusting the General Plan of Hai Phong City to 2040, vision to 2050, Do Son's position has been established not only as a simple coastal tourist destination, but also as a multi-functional international tourist center.
Accordingly, Do Son is planned to closely connect with the Cat Ba archipelago and Ha Long Bay, forming an international-level marine tourism corridor, and at the same time play a role as a key logistics service for the urban ecosystem, seaports and high technology of Hai Phong.

At the Workshop, the presentations focused on outlining a panoramic picture of growth momentum, achievements and structural paradoxes; identifying bottlenecks of Do Son tourism in terms of both the natural environment and bottlenecks in management, land resource planning and institutions for nighttime economic development.
Dr. Duong Duc Hung - Director of Hai Phong Institute of Applied Sciences and Development believes that there needs to be a solution to make Do Son a four-season destination, so that Do Son is a destination for tourists to eat and play.
The presentations also focused on brand positioning through cultural industry and iconic architectural ecosystems; restructuring target markets and four-season product ecosystems. Do Son's market positioning cannot continue to be limited to the "sea near Hanoi" mindset, Do Son must move towards occupying the position of a "super archipelago of four-season sleepless sea city"...
