Thai To Mac Dang Dung (1483 - 1541) was born in Co Trai village, now in Kien Hung commune, Hai Phong city. He was the founder of the Mac Dynasty - a dynasty that made many important contributions to the history of the nation with progressive policies on economic development, education, education, culture and diplomacy.
Under the Mac Dynasty, the country prospered, the people settled down, the family tree developed, many famous and outstanding people appeared, such as Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem, Giap Hai, Ha Nham Dai, Hoang Si Khai...
To commemorate the great contributions of the Mac Dynasty, in 2009, the Mac Kings Memorial Area was started in Kien Hung Commune. In 2020, Thanh Long Dao, Thai To Mac Dang Dung and Phu Phu Phu statue of Thai Hoang Queen Vu Thi Ngoc Toan were recognized as National Treasures.
In particular, on January 17, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 152/QD-TTg to recognize the relic cluster related to the Mac Temple in Duong Kinh, Kien Thuy District (old) as a special national relic, affirming the value and historical stature of the Mac Dynasty.

The 484th anniversary of the death of Thai To Mac Dang Dung was solemnly held in the sacred space of the Mac Dynasty Kings Memorial Area. This is a political and cultural activity of profound significance, contributing to honoring the family background and career of the Mac Dang Dung Thai To and the Mac Dynasty; at the same time, propagating and promoting the historical and cultural values of the Duong Kinh - Kien Hung land to the people and tourists inside and outside the city.
On this occasion, the Party Committee, government and people of Kien Hung commune expressed their deep gratitude to all levels, sectors, researchers, children of the Mac family and people across the country for their interest in and accompanying the locality in preserving and promoting the value of the relic, contributing to building the homeland of Kien Hung to become more and more beautiful, civilized, worthy of the tradition of the land of the sacred and just land, the place of the heroic Mac Dynasty.
