On December 10, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund held a Conference to review activities for the second term (2019-2024), deploy the Action Program for the third term (2024-2029) and announce personnel decisions of the Fund for the third term.
At the Conference, Associate Professor Dr. Do Van Tru, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and Chairman of the Fund Management Board, said that the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund was established in 2013, with the aim of supporting, encouraging and contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of the community in the cause of protecting and promoting the value of national cultural heritage. After its establishment, the Fund applied to join the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association.
During the second term, the Fund has made new developments. In addition to continuing to preserve the initial capital, there have been many dynamic and creative activities, increasing revenue, developing capital sources and from there, it has sponsored more than 10 billion VND for activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage such as sponsoring the Management Board of the Cultural - Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Dong Mo, Hanoi), the Thai Hai Ecological Ethnic Stilt House Village Conservation Area (Thai Nguyen), sponsoring the Cao Lo Dai Vuong Temple in Bac Ninh, the Hoang Cong Chat Temple in Dien Bien District, Dien Bien Province, the Martyrs Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield, Dien Bien Province...
The Fund also organizes and coordinates many seminars, talks, displays, and exhibitions on cultural heritage...
“The general goal, direction and task of the Fund in the third term is to strengthen and consolidate the organization and personnel of the Fund in a reasonable and effective manner to be strong enough to perform the assigned functions and tasks. Promote development and increase the Fund's capital through implementing or coordinating the implementation of programs, projects and events.
The Fund will be the connecting point between investors and heritage owners in implementing cultural heritage projects, diversifying forms of operation to both preserve capital and have funding to support the activities of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage values within its capacity and conditions" - Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru shared.
Sharing at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh - General Director of TikTok Vietnam said that currently, this platform continues to exploit heritage stories, connecting with young people to convey traditional Vietnamese music and intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO such as Hat Xoan; inviting groups to tell Vietnamese historical stories through exhibitions and museums attracting millions of viewers.
Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang, Permanent Vice President of the Fund, affirmed that 20 years of operation of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association has created a very large and tight ecosystem. That is the birth of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, which is currently the only non-public fund for cultural heritage.
The Fund has a very strong source of "resources", which are culturalists and scientists in the fields of museums, antiquities, history, heritage... All of which create a huge potential for the Fund to connect these "resources" to perform its functions and tasks; connecting heritage with people and businesses...
Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang pledged to operate the Fund in accordance with the Party's policies and the State's laws. Individuals in the Fund will not operate for political or economic purposes, to tarnish the image of those who create heritage. Renewing action programs that preserve and promote the value of national cultural heritage; building new heritages.
