The Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 with the theme "Hanoi connecting five continents" opened on the evening of November 29, at Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung district).
In her opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha emphasized that Hanoi is a locality with a large number of heritages in the country, rich in breadth and depth with the integration of Thang Long culture with the cultural regions of Xu Doai, Xu Dong, Kinh Bac, and Son Nam Thuong.
Along with Me Tri green rice making craft, Phu Thuong sticky rice making craft, and Quang An lotus tea brewing craft, in 2024, Hanoi Pho was decided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
“This is an honor and pride for the host community and food lovers. Heritage registration is also an important legal basis to contribute to implementing measures to protect and promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage of Pho Hanoi,” Ms. Vu Thu Ha affirmed.
Within the framework of the Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival 2024, the program "Pho So Ha Thanh" brings a culinary experience combining tradition and technology.
The leader of the Hanoi People's Committee affirmed that on the occasion of the 2024 Food Culture Festival, Hanoi, together with international friends and provinces and cities across the country, will continue to spread, circulate and promote cultural values and specialty products of each region, locality and country to people and tourists.

Mr. Le Van Cu, an artisan from Uoc Le village (Thanh Oai district, Hanoi), said that Uoc Le ham and sausage craft village will bring to the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 a performance recreating traditional ham pounding, carrying offerings, displaying a giant cinnamon ham tube over 2m long and weighing 120kg...
“We introduce typical products such as ham, sausage… at this festival, with the hope that many people will know the traditional taste of Uoc Le ham. I am very proud that the traditional craft has been continued. Visitors will be able to watch villagers perform hand-pounding ham and enjoy it right at the festival,” the 88-year-old artisan shared.
The festival runs from now until December 1. The culinary experience space has a scale of more than 80 booths. 16 embassies of countries participating in the festival include: Algeria, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, India, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Laos, Russian Federation, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Korea, France, Italy, Venezuela.
The culinary space also has the participation of 8 provinces: Ha Giang, Son La, Lang Son, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh.
