Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dieu - Vice President of Kien Giang Tourism Association said that in just the past week (from February 14 to February 20), Phu Quoc welcomed 3 5-star cruise ships. More than 8,000 international tourists have set foot in Phu Quoc and experienced the services and destinations on the island.
Ms. Dieu said that Phu Quoc is a favorite destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Visitors and experience entertainment areas such as: Cable car over the sea with 3 ropes; Hoang Hon town; Grand World Phu Quoc area; VinWonders; explore the beauty of cultural life and enjoy cuisine, shop for specialties on the pearl island... then return to the train to continue the journey.
Although currently, passengers still have to take a small boat (tender) to get to the port, this is a big step forward compared to before when passengers had to tender to Bach Dang wharf. Tourism businesses also hope that Phu Quoc International Passenger Port will soon complete the necessary procedures, especially being named on international maps to welcome cruise ships to the port, helping to save time and create convenience for tourists.
According to Ms. Dieu, international visitors really like Phu Quoc's tourism products, especially exploring the beauty of indigenous culture and cuisine, so the pearl island has many advantages to develop cruise tourism.
It is expected that by the end of 2025, Phu Quoc will continue to welcome a number of cruise ships to visit. The prospect of Phu Quoc welcoming ships to travel by sea in the future is very large, with diverse markets and tourist flows.
Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai also said that Phu Quoc currently has many advantages to attract tourists to visit the landscape as well as exempt 30-day visa for international tourists. In particular, Phu Quoc's continuous presence in the top of the votes of prestigious travel sites around the world helps the image of the pearl island get closer to tourists from near and far.

"In the coming time, the locality will increase propaganda and promotion of Phu Quoc tourism image in particular and Kien Giang province in general to domestic and foreign tourists. The Department continues to prepare carefully to exploit this type of potential cruise tourism, promote tour opening, routes, and link destinations..., Mr. Thai informed.
In the first 2 months of 2025, Phu Quoc City is expected to welcome more than 1.4 million visitors (up 23.6% over the same period, reaching 20.2% of the annual plan), international visitors are expected to welcome more than 320,000 visitors (up 52.7% over the same period, reaching 29.8% of the annual plan), total revenue reaching nearly 7,200 billion VND (up 77.3% over the same period, reaching 31.3% of the annual plan).
