On May 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh province said that during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the total number of tourists to Quang Binh is estimated at 369,000 people, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors reached about 8,500, an increase of 6.25% over the same period in 2024. Total tourism revenue reached about 428 billion VND.
The hot weather has caused eco-tourism destinations such as Phong Nha Cave, Thien Duong Cave, Nuoc Mooc Stream, Chay River - To Cave, Hava Valley, Ozo Park... to attract a large number of tourists. Nhat Le, Bao Ninh and Quang Phu beaches also recorded a large number of visitors during the holiday.
Dong Hoi City organizes many cultural and artistic activities such as: art programs to celebrate the Culture - Tourism Week, music performance "Legend Fest", low-altitude fireworks, photo exhibition and ornamental plants... contributing to creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. The traditional boat racing festival on the Nhat Le River alone attracted thousands of people and tourists to watch and cheer.
The occupancy rate at 3-star hotels and homestays in Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Dong Hoi city is from 95% or more; the average in the whole province is about 85 - 90%.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the activities are mainly aimed at ensuring security, order and food safety.
However, due to the high number of visitors, some tourist destinations have experienced local congestion and overloaded services, especially in Phong Nha and coastal routes.
