On the morning of July 31, Dong Son Commune People's Committee informed that it had just coordinated with the Community Group for Aquatic Resources Protection, Seaweed and Community Tourism of Dong Son commune to conduct field surveys, inspect the buoy system, and zoning for marine ecosystem conservation in the Hon Nhan area.
Hon Nhan is a small island about 700 m from the shore, formed from volcanic activity. Surrounding the island is a rich coral and marine ecosystem. From this area, you can observe the Ba Lang An coastline, lighthouses and see Ly Son island when the weather is favorable.
Functional sectors coordinate with people to use boats and basket boats to survey coordinates on the sea surface at locations about 2 nautical miles from the shore. At the same time, survey plans to ensure security and order, waterway traffic safety, rescue and relief in Hon Nhan area.
The survey also aims to identify seaweed and natural coral protection areas in the Dong Son sea area. This is also the basis for implementing the next steps in the plan to announce a water-based entertainment area in the Hon Nhan area.
Dong Son commune owns a developing seaweed ecosystem on a total area of nearly 200 hectares. In this survey, relevant parties focus on zoning areas to pilot conservation of about 12 hectares, creating a solid premise for sustainable tourism exploitation and development in Hon Nhan in the coming time.
Previously, on March 19, 2026, the Quang Ngai Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, together with departments, branches and Chau Tan Investment Company, also surveyed Hon Nhan to study investment in a tourism project.
According to the proposal, businesses will invest in equipment and human resources to develop types of tourism such as diving, coral viewing, SUP paddling, camping to watch sunrise... on an operating area of about 50 hectares, mainly water surface.
Quang Ngai has a coastline of about 130 km with many famous beaches such as My Khe, Chau Tan, Sa Huynh and many scenic spots formed from volcanic lava millions of years ago such as Ly Son Island, Thach Ky Dieu Tau, Hon Nhan, Ganh Yen, Ba Lang An.
