Mr. Le Hoang An - Deputy General Director of An Giang Tourism Joint Stock Company, concurrently Director of Tra Su Melaleuca Forest Eco-Tourism Site - confirmed that Tra Su Melaleuca Forest Eco-Tourism Site was voted as "Attractive tourist destination in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024" organized by the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.

With the theme "Elevating destinations - Connecting journeys", the program "Attractive tourist destinations of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024" selected and introduced 126 tourist destinations with outstanding tourism resources, products and services, capable of attracting and meeting the needs of tourists for sightseeing, relaxation and entertainment.

After 3 implementation phases (April - November 2024), the Organizing Committee has just announced the results of the vote for 50 attractive tourist destinations and awarded logos and certificates. With 17,312 votes, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest Tourist Destination leads the Voting Program.

Tra Su Melaleuca Forest is a forest and eco-tourism area with a total area of ​​845 hectares located in Van Giao commune, Tinh Bien town and part of O Long Vi commune, Chau Phu district (An Giang).

This is a typical flooded forest of the West Hau River region, home to many species of animals and plants belonging to the special-use forest system of Vietnam. This is home to 22 species of reptiles, 11 species of mammals, 23 species of aquatic animals and 140 species of plants belonging to 52 families and 102 genera. Of which, there are nearly 80 species of medicinal herbs.

During the flood season, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest is home to over 70 species of birds and storks. Among them, there are 2 species listed in the “Vietnam Red Book”: Indian stork (giang gen) and snake-necked stork (dien sesban).

This is also a rare tourist destination in the Mekong Delta that holds two national records: “Beautiful Tra Su Melaleuca Forest – the most beautiful and famous Melaleuca forest in Vietnam for tourism during the flood season” and “The longest bamboo bridge in the Melaleuca forest in Vietnam”.

And with the use of over 500,000 bamboo trees of various types to build a nearly 4,000 meter long bridge in the permitted area under the canopy of the cajuput forest, this bamboo bridge has been awarded the record of "The longest bamboo bridge in the cajuput forest in Vietnam".
