Kien Giang Department of Tourism said flights will depart on Monday and Wednesday at 10:45 p.m. (local time) from Almaty and arrive in Phu Quoc at 8:15 a.m.
The return flight will depart on Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing from Phu Quoc at 9:45 a.m. and arriving in Almaty at 3:50 p.m. (local time). It is expected to increase to 4 flights/week by December 2024.
Currently, international visitors to Phu Quoc come from more than 150 countries and territories with many direct international flights such as Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan (China)... and charter flights from Greece, Dubai (UAE), Singapore, Uzbekistan... In addition, there are international visitors from other localities in the country. Of which, Korea has the most flights to the pearl island with 4 airlines operating.
Mr. Bui Quoc Thai - Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism - said that 2024 is a boom year for international visitors to Phu Quoc, the number of international visitors to the pearl island is increasing. And this number will increase when in October 2024, many international flights from countries in Central Asia, Northern Europe, and North America are resumed.
In August 2024, Phu Quoc City is estimated to welcome more than 561,000 visitors (up 4.3% over the same period), of which international visitors are estimated to welcome more than 91,000 (up 177.6% over the same period); total revenue reaches more than 2,000 billion VND. Accumulated in 8 months, it is estimated to welcome more than 4.5 million visitors, international visitors are estimated to welcome more than 653,000 visitors, total revenue reaches more than 14,800 billion VND.
