On July 17, the Vietnam People's Police Sports Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Lam Dong province to review the preparations for Sports Festival 2026. This is a large-scale sports event expected to attract more than 17,000 athletes, coaches, guests and tourists.
According to the plan, Sports Festival 2026 takes place from July 27 to September 22 with a series of national and international tournaments in 12 sports. The opening ceremony will be held on the evening of August 1 with about 10,000 attendees.
Up to now, the Organizing Committee has issued competition regulations, established organizing committees for each tournament, deployed athlete registration, and at the same time prepared facilities, logistics and conditions to serve the event.
For professional tournaments, preparations have been completed or are being implemented according to plan in many sports such as Triathlon, Golf, Shooting, Tennis, Running, Cycling, Pickleball, Beach Volleyball, Beach Tennis and ATP Challenger 50.
Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh said that Sports Festival 2026 is not only a large-scale sports event but also an opportunity to promote the local image, promote tourism and service development, and enhance the province's position.
Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested units to continue to urgently complete the competition regulations, fully prepare stadiums, technical equipment, sound and lighting systems and service conditions.
At the same time, develop contingency plans and scenarios to handle situations to ensure that the event takes place safely, professionally, and creates a good impression on people, tourists and international friends.
Through a series of tournaments lasting nearly 2 months, Lam Dong expects to turn sports into a supplementary product for tourism, attracting tourists to experience, stay and spend more.
This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Mui Ne beach and local destinations, contributing to tourism development in a professional, sustainable direction and enhancing Lam Dong's position on the domestic and international tourism - sports map.
