Lam Dong - All canoes transporting tourists to visit Ke Ga lighthouse temporarily suspend operations to review safety regulations.

On July 29, leaders of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong province) said that they had requested the temporary suspension of all canoes transporting tourists to visit Ke Ga lighthouse to review safety conditions and complete legal procedures before resuming operation.

The decision was made after a peak inspection of inland waterway vehicles serving tourism in the area. Through inspection, most canoes were registered, equipped with life jackets and life-saving vehicles according to regulations.

However, inland waterway ports still lack technical agreement dossiers and have not completed procedures for announcing operations according to regulations. Therefore, the locality requests temporary suspension of passenger transportation to supplement and complete necessary conditions to ensure safety for tourists when visiting Ke Ga lighthouse.

According to Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee, business households have agreed to sign a commitment to temporarily suspend operations, and at the same time urgently complete the wharf and yard dossiers according to the guidance of functional agencies.

During this time, local authorities will continue to review the conditions of vehicles and drivers, and at the same time coordinate with departments and specialized sectors to complete the legal basis for passenger transport activities to Ke Ga lighthouse.

The locality strives to complete the review and supplementation of all conditions and allow the canoe route to resume operation by the end of August 2026 if it meets safety and inland waterway transport regulations.
