Attracting customers thanks to historical imprints
Recorded on August 29 - the first day of the September 2 holiday, the central area of Ho Chi Minh City was bustling with flags and flowers and a large number of tourists from provinces and cities flocking to visit and experience. Unlike purely resort tours, most tourists choose Ho Chi Minh City because they want to connect the National Day holiday with spaces imbued with historical values.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Pham Phuong Thao (Quang Ninh province) said that she had planned a trip to Ho Chi Minh City from May.

I chose Ho Chi Minh City because this place has many historical destinations that are very suitable for the 2nd of September such as Independence Palace, Ho Chi Minh City History Museum, City Post Office... I also scheduled to experience river buses and beautiful cafes. Although crowded and fun, the city still maintains a certain airiness, very comfortable during the holidays" - Ms. Thao shared.
Not only distant visitors, many families from neighboring provinces also choose Ho Chi Minh City as a starting point for their vacation.

Taking his young child to visit the Independence Palace, Mr. Ngo Quoc Anh (Dong Nai City) said: "Ho Chi Minh City is a city rich in historical traditions. I want to take my child to the Independence Palace so that my child can directly learn and feel about Vietnamese history before the whole family continues their journey to Vung Tau beach for vacation.
Enjoy the leisurely pace of life on holidays
Besides the flow of suburban tourists, many people in Ho Chi Minh City also choose to stay in the city to enjoy leisurely holidays, admiring airy streets that are completely different from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

At the campus of the City Post Office, Ms. Lan Anh's (HCMC) group of young friends attracted many eyes when wearing ao dai to record art performances.
We prepared a folk dance to celebrate National Day September 2nd, after filming at Independence Palace, we moved to the City Post Office. On these days, the streets are clear, the air is much fresher than usual, which helps us feel very comfortable and love the city more" - Ms. Lan Anh excitedly said.

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, in the first 8 months of 2026, the city is estimated to welcome 7.77 million international visitors (up 38.5% compared to the same period, reaching 70.6% of the annual plan) and 35.5 million domestic visitors (reaching 71% of the annual plan). Total tourism revenue is estimated to reach 259,696 billion VND, an increase of 48.8% and reaching 78.7% of the year's target.
The vibrant tourism atmosphere during the September 2nd holiday not only creates cultural and entertainment highlights for people and tourists, but is also an important lever to help Ho Chi Minh City tourism complete and exceed the targets set out in 2026.
In order to ensure good service for the sightseeing and tourism needs of people and tourists during the September 2nd holiday and the last months of 2026, contributing to building a safe and civilized tourism image of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism requests tourist areas and attractions, travel businesses, and tourist transport businesses to organize thorough grasp and strict implementation of legal regulations on tourism.
In which, establishments must strictly comply with regulations on listing and selling at listed prices; fully disclose service prices, surcharges, promotional programs, refund policies and conditions for canceling and changing services; provide full and correct service quality according to the content agreed with tourists. Do not allow the situation of arbitrarily raising prices, soliciting, forcing customers or acts that negatively affect the city's tourism image.
