Taking place from March 14 to 16 (ie February 15 to 17 of the lunar calendar), the Tay Thien Festival is the longest and most important event of Tam Dao district as well as Vinh Phuc province.
The Tay Thien Festival is held to commemorate and show gratitude for the merits of Queen Mother Lang Thi Tieu, Chinh Vuong Phi of Hung Chieu Vuong the 7th, who made great contributions to helping King Hung open the border, teach people to grow water rice, recruit soldiers, and strengthen the royal dynasty.

To prepare for this year's Tay Thien Festival, Tam Dao has mobilized hundreds of people to attend the ceremony (including lantern ceremony, procession ceremony, incense offering ceremony, and weight ceremony). The festival took place with many cultural, sports and tourism activities.
Mr. Do Quoc Trong, Head of the Tay Thien Scenic Landscape Management Board, said: "The special attraction for tourists at the Tay Thien festival is the characteristic of the intersection between the worship of the Mother Goddess and Buddhist culture. During the main festival, there will be a number of rituals such as the National Mother's Commemoration Ceremony, the incense offering Ceremony, the Mother's Commemoration Ceremony and cultural, sports and artistic activities...".

Along with unique rituals, the festival space is also attractive because of the unique culture of the San Duu ethnic group expressed through traditional costumes and the performance of Soong Co folk songs.
The opening program of the 2025 Tay Thien Xuan At Ty Festival was supplemented with a festival drum performance and cheo performance "Quoc Mau Tay Thien". Thereby contributing to depicting the cultural identity of ethnic groups while enhancing the experience for visitors to the Western Sky Festival.

This year's festival also includes a trade fair displaying local OCOP products to introduce traditional handicraft products, agricultural products, famous drinks and typical products of Vinh Phuc province to promote tourism.
